Thanks to Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt, Steiff have always felt a close connection with USA. In 1913, on the occasion of the presidential election in the USA, Richard Steiff designed “Dolly”, a Teddy bear in the national colours. Until 1918, there were four colour variations with the head always remaining white.
